What is the Norrsken Impact Accelerator? We are a non-religious, non-partisan, non-profit Foundation with a strong belief in Effective Altruism. We support and invest in both for-profit businesses and non-profit organizations, whichever we believe is most likely to have a positive impact on society. Although we are based in Stockholm, Sweden, we see ourselves as world citizens.

This year, the cohort will be from mixed impact areas, with a special focus on food-tech and agri-tech. 20 start-ups will be selected and will receive an upfront investment of $100 000 dollars for 5% equity. Swedish impact investor Norrsken Foundation is launching an eight-week impact accelerator this year. Inspired by the success of Y Combinator in California, the team at Norrsken aims to do something similar focused on impact startups — companies with a focus to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We accept applications from all kinds of businesses, not only Impact or tech companies. ‍ Our membership includes everything you’ll need, including wifi, coffee, meeting and conference room credits, printing, use of our studio and meditation room and ability to use Norrsken House as your registered address. The Norrsken Impact Accelerator is based in Stockholm. This year, the program is focused on accepting startups who are addressing big challenges related to our global good system. The accelerator has created quite a buzz for the incredible network of unicorn founders behind companies like Soundcloud, Klarna, Meltwater, Acne Studios, etc who will be advising the selected applicants.
